Hanseatic war with Denmark - Norway |
In 1510, the Hanseatic League declared war against Denmark and Norway because the League did not approve of the navigation blockade against Sweden. The Danes won easily against the Hanseatic Navy and Prince Kristian, who was named King of Norway, and was in Sweden fighting. |

Although the Danish ships had been dismasted to avoid provoking Nelson, he attacked after putting his blind eye to his telescope and failing to see the signal not to. The attack was called off when 6 of the English ships ran aground. Lt Willemoes was the Danish hero. |
